I am trying to ramp up my working knowledge in three areas concurrently. On the one hand, studying the PMBOK to ramp up my knowledge on the PMP process and on the other hand writing C# and Java code to get back the capability to develop software.
"Head in the Clouds" is an apt description about my mindset - trying hard to go against Father Time; to be "running" abreast of a virtual "top notch software engineer" and acquiring the capability to play any of two roles that appeal to me: Development Lead or a Software Project Manager.
Out of 24 hours a day, I sleep only 6 hours; I work full time in a 8 hour job that is not even remotely related to these personal endeavors but gives me valuable time to gain knowledge from the world wide web and then I am a family man helping my two children with their studies, for which I spend 4 hours every day, Monday through Friday.
Thus, only 6 hours is available for my pastimes: studying/reading, walking/jogging and intimacy.
When I look at the time available to me to "crawl back" to contention and/or gain the credibility of the prospective employer and team member and achieve a remuneration package that would give me the requisite comforts for the next 10 or 15 years of my life (retirement life for many others), I have only to blame myself - that I did not treat TIME as an Asset and a valuable resource that shouldn't have been wasted.
I will write this blog to record my achievements every day. Hopefully this blog will facilitate introspection for me to eke out a second here and second there, on the next day. I hope to give a glimpse of this blog to my two kids when they are ready for adulthood.
